.more about husband and me.

.the angel that lives next door.

.rudolph, the red nosed reindeer.

.as i was working on the next blog post for
husband and me
i could hear the singing outside of our front window.

.as i listened closer i realized,
it was cute james, the little guy next door
and his sweet mom sylvia.

.it stopped me in my tracks and i deleted my post.
.maybe that one is for tomorrow.

.i can remember the first time
i met sylvia outside she was the cutest southerner
i had met since returning to the south.

.her first words to me were,
"well i'm one of those true southern women,
don't go to the grocery store without coming to find
out if i have it first.".

.i was lonely without husband
and i needed her words more than she will ever know.

.she was my safety net the day the snake made his
grand entrance and even gave me a key if i ever needed a hideout again.
.you know because i had known her for all of a month.

.once a few days after husband had finally made it out here,
she was picking through her flowers
(the woman knows how to keep a garden folks!)
and brought over a handful to husband and told him they
were for me because she knew i was having a rough week at work.

.when our car broke down,
you guessed it -- sylvia.

.when hurricane irene was coming to wipe us out
with her wind, sylvia knew we had no clue what to expect
and took all of our festivities outside away to keep them from being destroyed.

.as if that all isn't enough, we can't even tell you how many times
she has put out our trashcans when we have forgotten
just to make sure we don't have overload.

.james is one lucky little tyke.

.sylvia, is an angel.

.and even though she will never read this
and we barely even see her,
this lady's sweet southernness just can't go unrecognized.
